Rod Campbell is a family favourite. The colourful illustrations and minimal words make it a big hit among the young readers 8mo onwards. What wins is the repetitive wordings in the book.

In this story is a small boy who is at his grandma's farm for the holidays and she tasks him to fetch some eggs for breakfast.

Each page is his journey to one animal's house at the farm in search of eggs. The flaps are tactically placed such that the child has to lift it in search of an egg. Does he find it? Does he have eggs for breakfast? You must read the book to find out.

Flap books and board book are excellent beginning reads and aid in the child's curiosity of books. You can also teach a child hand eye coordination by making them lift the flap.

We bought these wodden puzzle pieces from Melissa and Doug recently. I used it to show which farm animal was on the page to Sey. He could hold the animal and sometimes put them in his mouth. This excited him.

Enjoy the read!
